Byte Me Article 460 – Community Support

-Community Support

At this crazy time in our lives it is hard to write a weekly column and not mention the infamous Corona virus.  From my own personal point of view the source of most of the fear surrounding this rotten bug is the lack of knowledge of what it can / will do.  Nobody seems to know much about it at present, except for the fact that it doesn’t discriminate and that it can kill.

As I have said in previous articles, we have been flat out because of Corona.  The number of people that need to work from home, or need to home school, or simply need better communications with the outside world has seen us flat out.  This has also come on the back of the wave of Windows 7 upgrades that also has us flat out since the start of the year.

With all this increased workload, I am still happy to report that our standard 1-day turnaround time has only grown to around 2.5 days, although trying to source Webcam’s has become the IT equivalent of where toilet paper supplies were a month ago, non-existent!  Anyhow my real topic for this week has not yet been broached.

We need to get a shout out to more of the local clubs and community associations that are locally owned, locally operated and here to help.  Over the last 22 years we have offered sponsorship and / or large discounts to a number of these organisations and we are keen to continue with this help.  Below is the list that we have already helped, and we are keen to add to this.
