It’s simpler listing what we don’t do

What do we do? We are constantly getting asked this question as well as getting asked whether we will also look after home computer users. So, yes we do also look after home users however when it comes to IT a more simple answer is to list what we don’t do.
We don’t do data cabling or web design, but pretty much anything else you can think of is catered for here at Kerr Solutions. In fact, we have now been operating in Rockhampton for 15 years and this week we are happy to welcome David – a technician from Brisbane as the latest member to join our team which consists of 6 full time computer technicians and an office manager.
Information Technology is such a rapidly changing landscape that it is hard to stay abreast of the changes in our immediate field and offer the best solutions without looking to diversify into other IT areas.
The other question we are getting all of the time now is “should I install Windows 8 on my existing PC?”. The answer to this comes back to personal preference. We are selling both Windows 7 and Windows 8 on new computers and laptops.
If the customer is a home user and is used to some of the latest smart phones and their way of working then we are recommending Windows 8. If it is a business customer and they already have a network of several computers with Windows 7 then we are recommending sticking with that for the moment.
If you have a relatively new PC (under 2 years old) and you are a bit of a tech buff and always want to try the latest then by all means upgrade your existing PC to Windows 8 but make sure you know what you are doing and make sure you firstly have a backup of all of your important files.
