One of the key events we currently support is the Cowman Gaming Co community gaming nights, held at the Great Western Hotel in Rockhampton. These events bring together gamers from across Central Queensland for social gaming, tournament, and community connection in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Supporting the Central Queensland Gaming Community
Cowman Gaming Co is a community gaming brand based in Central Queensland, focused on using gaming and storytelling to reduce social isolation, promote mental wellbeing, and create meaningful connections throughout the region.
Through a variety of community gaming events, eSports tournaments, digital content, and online platforms, the organisation works to ensure that regional players have access to the same opportunities often only found in larger cities.
Kerr IT Solutions is proud to support initiatives like this that strengthen the local gaming community and create positive spaces for people to connect.
Built on Community and Mental Health Advocacy
Cowman Gaming Co was founded by Wyatt Medlin, an aspiring social worker and youth mental health advocate who recognised the positive role gaming communities can play in supporting wellbeing and social connection.
Wyatt also serves as a Board Director for Walk n Talk, and in 2025 he received the Queensland Suicide Prevention Network’s Men’s Mental Health Award for his work creating spaces that promote connection, resilience, and hope through gaming.
As a lifelong gamer and proud local, Wyatt saw that many regional players were forced to travel to larger cities to participate in competitive events. Cowman Gaming Co was created to bring high-quality gaming opportunities to Central Queensland, ensuring local gamers can compete and connect without leaving the region.
Looking Ahead
The Cowman Gaming Co gaming nights are only the beginning. As the local gaming community continues to grow, more events, tournaments, and collaborations are already being planned.
